Background and Aspirations
I am seeking re-election to the ASAHP Board of Directors. Since assuming this leadership role, the strategic initiatives the Board has supported have not only been transformational for the Association as a whole but more importantly, ASAHP is now positioned as a key player in advocacy for the health professions on a national level. Since assuming my deanship 10 years ago, I have been an active member of ASAHP having attended the majority of our meetings.
Moreover, I have contributed to the discussion of timely topics impacting the health professions. I previously served as a member of the ASAHP Task Force on Clinical Education and Chair of the ASAHP Marketing and Public Relations Committee. I have also held previous leadership positions as Vice President for Speech-Language Pathology Practice for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the inaugural Dean Commissioner for the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA), and currently serve as the Treasurer of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP), an international association for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and phoniatricians. I welcome the opportunity to continue to serve ASAHP, the leader in interprofessional education in allied health, as a re-elected member of the Board of Directors.
