Charlotte E. Exner
Dean
College of Health Professions, Towson University

I have been Dean of the College of Health Professions at Towson University for 11 years and a member of ASAHP during that time. I have served on the conference planning committee in the past as well ass serving as an on-going member of the Education Committee. I have assumed a substantive role on the Maryland Governor's Workforce Investment Board for the Committee on Health Workforce Shortages, and in particular the area addressing non-nursing/non-medicine shortages (allied health). I am invested in supporting the role of ASAHP in being the major comprehensive organization that addresses and supports this critical dimension of the healthcare workforce. Visibility of the organization—and subsequently the impact of the organization's work at this critical juncture of healthcare reform--is vital. I believe a key element of ASAHP's ability to have influence is involving a broad base of our membership in roles within the organization and in increasing the membership within ASAHP. I believe that the Nominations and Elections Committee can play a key role in the Association's agenda by recruiting a broad base of members to run for & serve in a variety of roles within the Association, including leadership roles.
