Kenneth L. Johnson, PhD
Associate Dean
Dumke College of Health Professions, Weber State University

I have found that the more I put into a position or organization, the more I get out of it. I have often volunteered for the professional organizations to which I belong, including ASAHP. I currently work with Tom Elwood as an ASAHP representative to the Healthy People Curriculum Taskforce in Washington and I have completed ASAHP's Leadership Development Program. Both of these experiences, along with my regular participation at ASAHP meetings, has allowed me to appreciate what ASAHP is doing and more importantly, get to know a number of ASAHP peers from across the country. This has made my membership more worthwhile and enjoyable.

This opportunity is simply more of the same. I believe by serving on the Nominations and Elections Committee I can continue to make new friends and contacts in ASAHP. By so doing, I hope to enhance my experience within the organization. I'm willing to put in the time and energy required to a productive member of the Nominations and Elections Committee.

ASAHP Activities:

- As mentioned previously, I serve as one of ASAHP's representatives on the Health People Curriculum Taskforce.
- I have served as a reviewer/referee for the Journal of Allied Health since 2007.
- I have completed the ASAHP Leadership Development program.
- I have attended both the spring and fall ASAHP meetings consistently since I became associate dean.
- I have attended and participated with two ASAHP groups: Western Deans and College of Health Deans, since I joined the organization.

Other relevant experience:

- I am an active member of the Association of University Programs in Healthcare Administration (AUPHA) and have served that group as a chair of one of its national faculty forums.
- I have also served that group in the past as a member of the Undergraduate Program Committee and as a member of the national program planning committee.
- I am an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (AHEC)
- I have extensive experience in service in university and committee groups that has prepared me to serve as a committee member for ASAHP.
