Linda Petrosino, Ph.D.
Professor and
Dean
College of Health and Human Services, Bowling Green State University

Over the past 25 years, I have served as an academician, researcher, clinician (speech-language pathologist), teacher, and administrator in communication sciences and disorders and more recently, the varied allied health and human services field. I have had the opportunity to serve my profession at both the state and national level in several leadership capacities that arms me with experience to serve the ASAHP membership. In addition to the experience, as evidenced by my emergence in volunteer positions, I have always had the sense of commitment to work hard and contribute to my professional organizations, their membership and to the constituencies that they serve.
ASAHP is an important organization for providing a unified voice for the diverse allied health professions. Since the strength of the organization is based on its membership and leadership, I believe that continued focus in those two areas is important. With strong membership we can continue to address the challenges that face allied health professions. Areas that require member participation, discussion, dialogue and action include: strategic influence over governmental health and related education policy; vigilance with work force issues; curricular excellence in our varied professions; current issues with student enrollment; development of the next generation of allied health leaders and continued strengthening of our research and scholarly base.
It is a privilege to be nominated for a term on the ASAHP Board of Directors and I look forward to working with the membership.
