Charlotte Royeen
Dean
Doisy College of Health Sciences, Saint Louis University

Since becoming a dean responsible for 12 different health professions at a research extensive institution six years ago, it has been my pleasure to routinely participate as a scholar and an administrator in ASAHP. Given changes in the federal administration and upcoming changes in health care in the United States, ASAHP has a real opportunity to influence federal and state policies and practices in terms of health care reorganization. I wish to serve ASAHP as a member of the Board of Directors in facilitating and fostering this change and calling attention to allied health workforce needs. A broad set of experiences uniquely qualify me to serve in this position: (1) Long standing federally-funded work with under served native Americans in rural Nebraska, which initiated my path towards interprofessional education (2) Previous employment as a research analyst in the US government, (3) Experience as a practicing occupational therapist with first-hand experience in health care provision, (4) Extensive association experience with other organizations including previous service as a board member for a national organization of 60,000, (5) PhD in research methods with university experience as a research administrator, (6) National and international scholarly reputation, (7) Experience in federal lobbying, (8) Good teamwork and organizational skills, (9) Good problem solving skills, and (10) Good sense of humor. Most notably, I am known for high standards, effective action, and innovation.
