The Yakima Valley Interprofessional Practice and Education Collaborative (YVIPEC) was launched in the fall of 2014 under the auspices of Pacific Northwest University. The YVIPEC is comprised of member institutions that include various professional health science programs at Washington State University, Heritage University, Central Washington University and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. YVIPEC is a grassroots organization that has brought together multiple institutions with the expectation to coordinate individual learners from various healthcare disciplines to influence their own educational and community health outcomes.

The Executive Director reports to the provost of PNWU, and is responsible for directing the Collaborative's activities. The Executive Director works closely with the Collaborative's Steering Committee and Advisory Council, and develops a working relationship with all members of the Collaborative as well as its community partners.

Essential Job Functions:
• Design, develop and implement strategic plans in close coordination with the IPEC and University stakeholders
• Provide leadership for day-to-day operation of the organization, including management of staff members and the IPEC committees
• Develop sound business plans and oversee budgets that support IPEC operations and the achievement of strategic goals
• Interact with organizational leaders from education, clinical practice and other current and potential partners at all levels
• Be aware of cultural and professional sensitivities, particularly as they relate to local, state and regional communities and our institutional missions
• Facilitate the growth of IPEC related scholarship and service (through mentorship and by example), including increasing the level of published original research and external funding for the IPEC
• Acts as a mentor to faculty, staff, students and collaborative partners
• Develop, monitor and manage the YVIPEC budget

• Masters required; Doctorate preferred (additional relevant experience may be substituted for doctoral degree)

• Leadership and administrative experiences directly relatable to the role of the IPEC Executive Director position
• Demonstrated success in conducting and disseminating IPEC-related research and in securing external grants and other resources
• Track record of successfully mentoring faculty and students in IPEC-related education and scholarly activity
• Experience in Interprofessional education/collaborative is a plus
• Health improvement collaborative activities at the local, regional, or national level, a plus
• Five years of related experience preferred in community based clinical healthcare or healthcare education

• Ability to problem solve by analyzing issues and creating action plans
• Solid working knowledge and use of technology, including software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, etc.), familiar with web based applications, connectivity while off-site, and various technology platforms (i.e. Apple, Android, iPads, projectors, laptops, etc.)
