Member Testimonials

The School of Health Sciences at the Richard Stockton College joined ASAHP because it offers the best opportunity to make a difference nationally on matters affecting the allied health professions and the best opportunity for exposure to information affecting the allied health professions.   Over two years ago I attended my first ASAHP annual meeting as the associate dean at another university.  Virtually every allied health profession was represented and everyone was so friendly.  During that meeting I volunteered to serve on the education committee, the assistant/associate deans group,  had a poster displayed during the poster session, and attended my first alpha eta honorary society event.  ASAHP members are welcoming and friendly.  You want to become involved.

When I become Dean of the newly formed School of Health Sciences earlier this year, my first request of the Provost was an ASAHP membership because all faculty would benefit; not just a few.  We joined a few weeks ago and faculty are looking forward to forming our own alpha eta chapter.  I am looking forward to continuing my involvement and introducing my assistant dean and faculty to the variety of events and activities that come with an ASAHP membership.

ASAHP also has helped me to connect with other administrators who grapple with the same challenges I do: recruiting faculty, completing accreditation self studies and meeting accreditation guidelines, searching for grant funding, organizing interdisciplinary experiences for students, improving cultural awareness and language skills among faculty and students, and wooing donors to name just a few.
