According to a report from the Altarum Institute, from December 2016 to December 2017, health jobs in the U.S. grew by 1.9% compared to 1.4% for non-health jobs. For the most recent month of December 2017, health care added 31,400 new jobs for a preliminary full year average of 25,000 jobs per month. Hospitals added 12,400 jobs in December 2017 compared to only an estimated 800 new jobs in the previous month.
