The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) announced new and returning Members for the Board of Directors. As the nation’s leading association focused on advancing health professions education, ASAHP represents over 120 institutions and professional members across the U.S. that educate the healthcare workforce of the future.
All Board members will assume their roles on October 29, 2026, at the conclusion of ASAHP’s 2026 Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
New and returning Board of Directors members include:
Christopher W. O'Brien, PhD, LAT, ATC, FASAHP, FNAP, Dean of Health Sciences at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA, was elected to serve his first term as a Director (three year term) on the Board of Directors.
Andrew Butler, Ph.D, PT, FAPTA, FASAHP | Professor, Director Center for Engagement in Disability, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (CEDHARS) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham was re-elected to serve his second term as Treasurer (two year term) on the Board of Directors.
As Board Members, Drs. O’Brien and Butler will support the governance of ASAHP as it continues its mission of being a leading national advocate for higher education institutions and professional members who are training the health professions workforce of the future.
