As the starting date for the Democratic Party’s national convention approaches, its draft platform for 2016 has been released. Its features include an endorsement of universal health care, a renewed commitment toward and expansion of community health centers, actions to lower prescription drug costs, acceleration of medical research, expanded access to addiction treatment and mental health services, and increased investments in public health.
