2026 Award for Innovation and Excellence in Clinical Education Deadline

Through the award for innovation and excellence in clinical education, the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) looks to recognize an institutional member along with its clinical partner(s) for innovation and excellence in clinical education.  Applicants must concurrently submit an abstract for the poster session at the upcoming ASAHP annual conference, October 27-29, 2026 in Nashville, TN. The award winner will receive one complimentary registration for the ASAHP annual conference and present during the meeting’s poster session.

Award Criteria

Applicants for this award must be nominated and submitted by an ASAHP member institution.  Applicants should demonstrate innovation and excellence in clinical education that:

  • Exhibit innovation in clinical education that will support future workforce needs, and at least one of the following:

  • Increase the quality of clinical education for students in one or more areas such as, but not limited to, assessing changing needs of students, enabling early clinical exposure, expanding uses of technologies, integrating interprofessional education, measuring success of the clinical experience, or other innovations.

  • Increase the quantity of clinical education experiences for students while maintaining or enhancing quality.

Format

  • ASAHP member institution representative’s name and endorsement

  • Author information (name, degree(s), email, job title, institution/organization)

  • Co-author(s) information (name, degree(s), email, job title, institution/organization)

  • Lead Presenter Biography

  • Submission Title (max 100 characters including spaces)

  • Abstract including hypothesis/issue to be addressed, method, observations/outcomes, and conclusion. Max 1,250 characters.

  • Poster template to be used for presentation at ASAHP national meeting.

  • Optional: Supporting materials that exhibit one or more of the award criteria.

Instructions to submit:

Application materials should be submitted via the online submission portal.  Award applications close on May 25, 2026. It is anticipated that applicants will be notified of their status no later than July 3, 2026.

2026 ASAHP Scholarship of Excellence Deadline

Scholarship of Excellence Program:

The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions sponsors a scholarship program for health professions students enrolled in its member schools.


Purpose: The purpose of the scholarship program is to recognize outstanding students in the health professions who are achieving excellence in their academic programs and have significant potential to assume future leadership roles in health professions. The selected student will receive a $1,000 scholarship.


Starting in 2014, an additional scholarship in the amount of $1,000 and the title of Elwood Scholar is to be awarded to the most outstanding Scholarship of Excellence recipient.

Qualifications:
The following criteria must be met to be eligible to receive an ASAHP Scholarship:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a college or school that is an institutional member of ASAHP.

  • Candidates must have successfully completed at least one term (quarter, semester, trimester, etc.) at that institution.

  • Candidates may be enrolled in any health discipline except those in the nursing, public health, psychology, or MOD-VOPP (medicine, osteopathy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, podiatry, pharmacy) group.

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a career entry-level, degree-granting program; all degree levels are eligible (associate, baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral).

  • Financial need is not a criterion for eligibility.


Nomination Process:
The following process will be used to nominate candidates:

  • Each eligible institution may nominate one candidate for each round of scholarship awards.

  • A complete nomination will include each of the following items:

    • A letter endorsed by the ASAHP Institutional Representative that supports the nomination and describes qualities of the candidate (see Qualifications).

    • A current nominee’s resumé/CV.

    • A one-page (not to exceed 200 words) typewritten essay from the nominee that addresses why the nominee selected the health profession for which they are enrolled and what unique contributions they intend to make to the community’s health.

Important Dates:
This year's final deadline is Friday, June 5, 2026. The nomination packet must be submitted via the online form by 11:59pm (Pacific Time) on June 5, 2026.

Selection Process:
The process for selecting ASAHP Scholarship winners will be as follows. Upon receipt of applications at the ASAHP office, they will be sent to a select group of members (e.g., ASAHP Past-Presidents or Members of the Board of Directors) who will make a determination of which students will be selected to receive scholarships. For 2026, seven students are expected to be selected for scholarship awards, with one of those seven being awarded additional scholarship and the title of Elwood Scholar.

Notification of Winners:

Letters to the winners will be sent under the signatures of ASAHP’s President and the Executive Director to the institutional representative after the recipients are recognized on the ASAHP UPDATE. The scholarship check and a certificate will be included with that letter. The institutional representative is responsible for assuring that the winning student receives the check. Institutions are encouraged to use the award to honor the student publicly.

Publicity:

Names and schools of winners will be included in various publications of the Association. Institutions are encouraged to publicize the scholarship awards in ways that they desire.

2026 ASAHP Annual Conference Abstracts Deadline

Submission Deadline: May 8, 2026 (Original deadline was April 30, 2026)

On October 27-29, the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions will hold its 2026 Annual Conference at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville Downtown in Nashville, Tennessee.

Interested parties are invited to contribute to the program by submitting abstracts to be presented in-person in one of two formats:

  1. Paper presentation: ​a 20-minute Concurrent Session, or

  2. Poster presentation: during the conference-wide Poster Session

  • Team-Based Education: Interprofessional Education in Action 

  • Strengthening and Sustaining the Health Professions Workforce

Submission Instructions

All authors will need to create new accounts to submit an abstract.

Abstracts Must:

  • Be submitted via the abstract submissions website using the template below.

  • Be no more than 1,250 characters.

  • Specify the Topic which best characterizes the abstract

  • Be submitted by May 8, 2026 (Original deadline was April 30, 2026)

Abstract Format:

Sections

Abstract MUST include following Sections:

  • Hypothesis/Issue to be addressed – May be a scientific hypothesis, a clinical issue, a population to be served, an educational need etc.

  • Method – Experimental design, clinical approach, educational model, etc.

  • Observations/Outcomes – experimental data, clinical or educational outcome, etc.

  • Conclusion

Style

  • Please capitalize the entirety of the Abstract’s title (maximum 100 characters)

  • List names of author(s) using no titles or degrees, followed by the Institution affiliation in parenthesis.  

Additional

  • Presentations should include a one-paragraph biographical description of the lead presenter.

Accepted Abstracts Information:

  • The 2026 ASAHP Annual Conference and all abstract presentations will be taking place in-person on October 27-29 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville Downtown in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Accepted abstracts will be listed in the conference program-at-a-glance and event mobile app. Responsibility for accuracy rests with the author. Please double check to ensure your abstract title and entire abstract is within the character limit.

  • If the abstract is accepted for presentation, only the lead author will be notified in July 2026.

  • Timely registration and payment for the conference are pre-requisites for presenters. Regardless of how much of the Annual Conference they will be attending, all presenters must register for the conference and are responsible for their own expenses including the registration fee, lodging, and travel. Please check the website for information about registration and hotel reservations.

  • It may not be possible to accommodate all requests for concurrent session presentations, and applicants may be requested to present using the poster format.

  • Each lead author will be limited to only one concurrent session and one poster presentation.

  • An author must be present and registered for the conference to present a poster or concurrent session.

Interprofessional Collaboration Research Grant

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: The Principal Investigator (PI) must be a full-time faculty in an ASAHP member institution with a degree in an allied health profession. Applicants may serve as PI on only one grant application. Only one application may be submitted per ASAHP Member Institution.

AWARD AMOUNT: We expect to fund 2-3 awards up to $30,000 per award

GRANT PERIOD: September 1, 2025 - August 31, 2026    

APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 16, 2025 - Please note that this deadline is final and will not be extended.

Goal: To support innovative research projects with the highest potential to produce new knowledge and paradigms towards success in interprofessional collaboration. Projects should involve at least two of the allied health professions listed in the next paragraph. Other health professions not listed are encouraged to participate as collaborators. The most competitive applications will be designed as scalable projects with potential outcomes which can be broadly applied and implemented by ASAHP member institutions.

2025 Interprofessional Innovation Grant Deadline

The Interprofessional Committee of the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) developed the Interprofessional Innovation Grant (IIG) Program to provide support for interprofessional collaboration research among the ASAHP membership. The intent is to provide recipients a competitive edge in securing additional funding by supporting pilot projects and further developing grantsmanship skill sets. The intent of the IIG Program is that proposals submitted can be used to develop larger, more extensive interprofessional research projects that further engage faculty and ASAHP members in research endeavors. The Interprofessional Committee expects to fund 3 awards up to $2,000 per award for projects between September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. Deadline to apply is June 1, 2025.

ASAHP Travel Award to 2025 ASAHP Annual Conference

Through the Award for Innovation and Excellence in Clinical Education, the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) looks to recognize an institutional member along with its clinical partner for innovation and excellence in clinical education.  As the inaugural award, all ideas are welcome.  Applicants will have the option to concurrently aThe Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions is sponsoring a travel award for two faculty members to help cover the cost of attending the 2025 ASAHP Annual Conference at the JW Marriott Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana. There will be two awards this year of $1,300 each for attendees at large from an ASAHP member institution.

The 2025 ASAHP Annual Conference theme is "Innovation in Action: Growth and Collaboration in Higher Education and Health Professions " and will take place at the October 14-16, 2025.submit for the poster session at the upcoming ASAHP annual conference, October 14-16, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

2025 ASAHP Interprofessional Excellence Award Deadline

The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) strongly endorses interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP). Support for IPE and IPCP is based on the idea that collaboration will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery systems to promote team-based, patient/family centered health care. As the leading organization representing health professions schools, ASAHP serves as a collaborative resource and advocate for interprofessional education to students, faculty, professional accrediting bodies, and practitioners through instruction, research, and service.

Through the Award for Institutional Excellence and Innovation in Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Health Care, ASAHP looks to recognize a member institution and/or industry member for outstanding achievement in IPE and IPCP.  In addition to the award, several institutions will also be recognized as “Programs of Merit” by ASAHP.

2025 Clinical Education Project Coordinator Application Deadline

POSITION IDENTIFICATION
Title: Project Coordinator, Clinical Education Committee
Functional Area: ASAHP Clinical Education Committee
Reports to: Clinical Education Committee Chairs
Time Commitment: Part-Time, variable, less than 4 hours most weeks, through September
Salary Range/Costs: 2025-2026 Maximum Salary is $4,000 per year, ($15 per hour) plus full registration at one ASAHP meeting. Payment quarterly. Preferred availability 2nd Thursday of each month 12pm-1pm Eastern Time.

Applicant submits CV and letter of interest to the ASAHP Clinical Education Committee Chairs via submission portal, plus letter of recommendation from program director or chairperson and endorsement signature of ASAHP dean at the applicant’s school. The ASAHP Clinical Education Committee will select from eligible applicants. Individuals who are a current student at or graduate within the past year from an ASAHP member institution at time of beginning of appointment are eligible.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Project Coordinator will participate in all ASAHP Clinical Education Committee activities, including monthly conference calls and delegated Committee and subcommittee/ ASAHP meetings. The Project Coordinator will work with Committee members to support their objectives and assist with meeting goals of the Committee.

2025 ASAHP Election: Call for Candidate

ASAHP’s call for candidates submission deadline has been extended from April 15 to Wednesday, April 30.

ASAHP’s annual election will be conducted this Summer. The following positions are open for the 2025 election: 

Board of Directors (three-year term) - 2 open positions
Secretary (two-year term) - 1 open position
Nominations & Elections Committee (two-year term) - 3 open positions

 The election candidate form here, including CV and headshot photo, must now be submitted online no later than Tuesday, April 30, 2025. Election information is also available here. The election will open for voting on July 15, 2025 and will close on August 15, 2025.
