Background and aspirations for ASAHP
I completed my doctoral degree in Leadership Studies in 2004 and have continued to study leadership ever since. It is so important to choose the right leaders for organizations to ensure that the goals of the strategic plan can be fully realized. I have been involved with ASAHP since 2019 and have been so excited to work with these interdisciplinary teams on projects related to advocacy, research, and interprofessional education. I've served on several committees, given several oral and poster presentations at ASAHP Conferences, and have organized and led webinars for the association. I've participated in and led/organized a hub site for the ASAHP Regional Summits. For several years, I chaired the Nominating Committee for the AT Board of Certification and have led numerous searches over the years. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of objectivity in vetting candidates for board positions and employment. I fully support the mission of ASAHP to advance health professions education through interprofessional leadership and collaboration. I learned a great deal from completing the ASAHP Leadership Development program and look forward to giving back to the association through identifying forward-thinking, ethical leaders. I was incredibly honored to receive the ASAHP Fellow Award in 2021 and the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award in 2023. I fully understand that ASAHP's mission has had to adapt to the current political landscape, but am confident that we can continue to support our member institutions in many meaningful ways.
